This method can be applied in both concrete and steel structures to meet the additional reinforcement need just like the carbon fibers and textiles; or to create larger cross sections which can not be achieved with carbon fibers.

In steel structures this method is used both for replacement of the corroded and damaged existing elements and also for enlarging inadequate sections.
